Jaws and Firefox, and maybe IE as well

So while I'm in the board-writing mood, I might as well ask about a small but persistent, and truly annoying, problem I've been having lately. So I use Jaws, and I use Firefox, primarily. In any case, there are times when I go to certain websites, and while I'm sure the page is not empty since pressing control + up or down arrow gives me a garbled bit of what the page is about, , it might as well be empty as far as Jaws is concerned. It does report how many links and headings and stuff there are, but pressing the arrow keys has no effect whatsoever, and tabbing around only moves me between the address field, the page content, (which apparently doesn't exist)), and the page name tab. Restarting Jaws fixes the issue, but why does it happen in the first place? By the way, it most often occurs when I'm checking my Yahoo email, but there are times when I'm browsing other random sites and it happens. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Albano.
Oh and, this also happens in IE too, although not as often.

I believe this is a problem with yahoo. Often when I go to yahoo pages, Jaws goes into "application mode" but doesn't announce that it has done so. It causes all kinds of chaos. I have no idea what application mode is and have found very little information about it anywhere. The only way I can find to get out of it is to tab until Jaws says "application mode off". It's very annoying. I have also noticed lately when trying to use something on yahoo that occasionally Jaws totally spazzes out and reports there are no links or anything on the page. The only way I can fix this is to turn off IE8 and then go try again. I have always assumed this has something to do with some of the on screen ads but this is just a guess. Yahoo becomes more and more inaccessible every time they change it. This is why I switched to Gmail. Good luck.

I've noticed this problem with Firefox too. I have no idea what causes it, but it happens on a lot of websites, although it seems to happen less with the latest update of Firefox, so make sure you're running the latest version.
